お盆の特別なおやすみ。

数日間だけれど、ご先祖様が遠い場所からおうちに帰ってきてくれる大切な時間です。
​提灯に明かりをともし、お供え物を準備して、「おかえりなさい」と迎える。見えないけれど、すぐそばに温かな気配を感じながら、家族みんなで食卓を囲んで笑い合う——。
​お盆は、いま生きている家族だけでなく、私達に命を繋いでくれたご先祖様や家系図のすべてと繋がれる、愛おしくて賑やかな時間です。
​妙心寺では8月16日までお盆のお祭りが開催されています！地域に根ざした温かい雰囲気が本当に素敵で、心から楽しめました。みなさんはどんなお盆を過ごしていますか？

A special break for Obon.
It’s only a few days, but it’s a precious time when our ancestors return home from far away.

Lighting the lanterns, preparing offerings, and welcoming them back with a heartfelt “Welcome home.” Even if we can’t see them, we feel their warm presence right beside us as the whole family gathers around the table, sharing laughter together.

Obon isn’t just about the family here today—it’s a joyful, cherished chance to connect with our entire family tree and everyone who passed down the gift of life to us.

Myoshinji Temple is hosting its Obon festival until August 16th! I truly enjoyed this wonderful, cozy community-based Japanese festival. How about all of you?
